Lung Cancer Awareness
Posted on:
Most cases of lung cancer are caused by smoking. Smoking is the biggest single risk factor for developing lung cancer, and is responsible for more than 7 out of 10 cases. Ex-smokers remain at risk of developing lung cancer, even if they have now quit smoking or haven’t smoked for a long time. Even people who have never smoked can develop the condition.
Early warning symptoms of lung cancer include:
- A persistent cough
- Coughing up blood
- Feeling tired all the time
- Shortness of breath
- Chest pain
- Loss of appetite
- Unexplained weight loss
If you ever have any of these symptoms, you should submit an online request for a face-to-face GP appointment. Alternatively, you can request a GP appointment on your Patient Access account, by contacting Reception on 0121 628 2345 or by coming to speak to Reception in person.
