CHANGES TO OUR MONDAY MORNING APPOINTMENT SYSTEM
Over the last 9 months we have been running a Telephone Triage appointment system. This was put in place because we felt we needed to ensure patients had more access to a GP on the day and make the system more appropriate for the current demands made on General Practice.
Based on a recent review, we found that most of our patients who phoned up on a Monday morning required a face to face appointment. With this in mind we have decided to change the way we manage our appointments on a Monday morning so we are more efficient and don’t duplicate work.
From Monday July 6th if you need to be seen by a GP and your problem isn't to do with a prescription query/request or Medical Certificate the receptionist will book you into the next available face to face appointment for that morning. We envisage these appointments being taken quickly so the earlier you phone, the more chances you have of getting one. N.B. – These appointments are allocated in order so we won’t be able to guarantee you a certain time or that you see a particular GP.
If you feel you aren't able to make it to the surgery or just need some advice about your problem please let the receptionist know and they will put you on the Duty GPs list for a call back.
We will be continuing our current appointment system throughout the rest of the week and as always you can book a routine appointment to see a doctor or nurse - during surgery time - by contacting reception on 0121 628 2345 and making a routine appointment.
